A North Carolina native, I graduated from Western Carolina University with a major in marketing and have lived in Charlotte for over 28 years.
I worked in the corporate world for over 15 years in the banking industry (consumer bank and mutual funds). My business background gave me a great foundation for my relationship skills and business management skills that I use in Real Estate. I was exposed to the Real Estate Industry in 1987 through my Mother and Father in law. They owned two local Real Estate offices in Gaston county. My Mother in law is still going strong in the industry with over 50 years of experience. I knew that from watching them cultivate and grow their business that Real Estate was something that I wanted to do.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my family, My husband of 28 years Ken, my 2 daughters, Lauren a local school teacher and Leah a freshman at Wake Forest University and my three dogs Sammy, Bogey, and Daisy. Having a daughter that works in the public school system allows me to keep abreast of the changes and challenges of the local public school. I also have the privilege of being a school volunteer and love to go in and help out in the classroom.
I am a tennis player and love to support and play in the local tennis leagues in Charlotte. In the past, I had the unique opportunity to work with the USTA by managing a local league (Senior tennis and Singles tennis). I spent six years working with the local leagues and loved every minute of encouraging the growth of tennis in our Charlotte community.
I love working with people and cannot think of anything more exciting that helping clients with the purchase and sale of their homes. There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional – integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.
That said, in my experience as a Charlotte real estate professional, I’ve also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.
